Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
Welcome to Beautiful Minds Hypnotherapy, operated by Sarah Jane Etheridge, a
Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist and registered member of the Association for
Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (APHP) and the National Register of
Psychotherapists & Counsellors (NRPC). By booking a session with me, you agree to
the Terms and Conditions outlined below. These terms are designed to ensure a
professional, respectful, and effective therapeutic relationship.

2. Discovery Call
All new clients are required to have a complimentary 15-minute discovery call upon
booking their first hypnotherapy session. This call allows us to discuss your goals,
determine if Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy is suitable for you, and address any
questions you may have. No therapy appointments can commence until this discovery
call has been completed.

3. Appointments and Booking
Appointments are booked through my secure online booking system. You may rearrange
or cancel your session with at least 48 hours’ notice via the booking system. If less than
48 hours’ notice is given, or you do not attend your appointment, no refund or
rescheduling will be available. Payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your
appointment. This policy helps protect both my time and yours, ensuring fairness to all
clients.

4. Your Commitment as a Client
Solution-focused Clinical Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process. You agree to
approach sessions with openness and a willingness to participate, attend appointments
consistently and complete any reflections or tasks suggested between sessions, and
understand that your progress depends on your engagement and readiness for change.
I am here to support and guide you — but the real change happens with your active
participation.
Please note: There is no fixed number of sessions required, as every individual’s
progress is unique. Many clients notice positive change by around session six, but for
some, it may take 8, 12, or even up to 20 sessions, depending on their goals and
circumstances.

5. Nature of Service
Please note that I am not a medical doctor, psychiatrist, or psychologist, and I do not
diagnose or treat medical or mental health conditions. Solution Focused Clinical
Hypnotherapy is a complementary approach that supports well-being and helps manage
issues such as stress, anxiety, sleep, confidence, and motivation. If you have medical or
mental health concerns, you should always consult your GP or healthcare provider.

6. Therapeutic Boundaries
Beautiful Minds Hypnotherapy does not provide crisis or emergency support. If you are
in immediate distress or at risk of harm, please contact your GP, NHS 111, Samaritans
(116 123), or emergency services. Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for medical
diagnosis or treatment, and you should continue any care prescribed by your doctor.

7. Fitness to Attend
Clients must not attend sessions under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs.
If I believe you are not in a suitable state to participate safely, the session may be
terminated and will not be refunded. Prescribed Drugs Declaration: All clients are
required to declare any prescribed drugs they are currently taking prior to commencing
therapy. This information ensures your safety and allows me to tailor sessions
appropriately. Failure to declare prescribed drugs may result in the immediate
termination of the appointment, and no refund will be given.

8. Results Disclaimer
While many clients experience positive change through hypnotherapy, individual results
cannot be guaranteed. Outcomes depend on your personal circumstances, mindset, and
commitment to the process.

9. Fees and Payment
Session fees are listed on the Beautiful Minds Hypnotherapy website and may be
updated periodically. Payment is taken at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in
advance. Sessions cancelled or missed with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-
refundable. Block bookings are non-refundable but may, at my discretion, be
rescheduled within the validity period stated at the time of purchase.

10. Confidentiality and Record Keeping
Everything discussed in our sessions is strictly confidential. Information will only be
shared without your consent if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or I am
required by law to disclose information. Session notes are kept securely in accordance
with data protection legislation.

11. Online Sessions
Online hypnotherapy sessions are conducted via a secure video platform (such as
Zoom). You are responsible for ensuring a quiet, private environment free from
interruption and a stable internet connection. The same confidentiality, payment, and
cancellation policies apply to online sessions.

12. Communication Outside Sessions
Contact between sessions should be limited to administrative matters. Therapeutic
support is provided during booked sessions only.

13. Insurance
Beautiful Minds Hypnotherapy is fully insured for professional indemnity liability in
accordance with APHP and NRPC professional standards.
14. Right to Refuse or Terminate Therapy
I reserve the right to decline or discontinue therapy if it is deemed inappropriate, unsafe,
or unproductive for either party. Where appropriate, a suitable referral will be suggested.

15. Liability
While every reasonable effort is made to provide a safe and supportive service, Beautiful
Minds Hypnotherapy cannot accept liability for any loss, damage, or adverse outcome
except where caused by proven negligence or breach of statutory duty.

16. Professional Conduct
I adhere to the APHP and NRPC Code of Conduct, Performance, and Ethics at all times.
Clients are expected to behave respectfully during all interactions.

17. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any
disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
